Assisted video-chat for seniors
Welcome to Visiting Ours Our non-profit service enables families to video-chat with their elderly loved ones, whether they live independently or in an assisted living or nursing home. We equip college interns and youth volunteers with portable computers and MiFi Internet hotspots. They visit the homes as scheduled by families and initiate virtual visits on Skype, Google+ Hangouts, GChat and Apple FaceTime.
Elderly participants do not need computers, Internet access or any technical knowledge. They simply visit with family on our equipment while the aide waits outside.
Someday, video-visits may be as easy as tuning in to your favorite TV show. Until then, Visiting Ours volunteers bridge the gap to bring families and generations together. Secure a Visiting Ours session for your family.
"I was blown away by my first video call to my father. Being able to see him adds so much to the experience that I find it hard to describe. And having someone there, on his end, to assist makes it all work. His smile at seeing me makes it clear that he is aware of what is going on. I only wish this service had been around earlier."

"It almost feels like just sitting across the table from her. This would not be possible without you handling all of the technology side for Grandma. "
